At Randstad Defence, we’re proud to be partnering with Electro Optic Systems (EOS)—a leading force in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced defence systems, who are currently seeking a Technical Writer to join their team. This is a permanent role based in either Melbourne or Canberra, and is full-time onsite Monday to Friday.

About the role:

EOS is currently seeking a Technical Writer to be a member of the Technical Communications team. The Technical Writer will perform drafting, editing and other assigned writing tasks to produce required publications. The technical Writer is expected to be an active member of the Technical Communications team and contribute to the authoring of documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, edit and write EOS Technical Communications to meet the required need. The suite of Technical Communications products will include (but are not limited to):

• Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs)Operator & Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues, and Manufacturing Process Instructions

• Draft and edit content to ASD S1000D standards and format using the R4i Suite of software and publishing packages.
• Assign activities based on workload and expertise within the team.
• Engage with EOS engineering groups both locally and internationally to ensure requirements are identified and met.
• Engage the Project and ILS Managers regarding their specific Technical Communication requirements

About You

• Must be an Australian citizen
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Ability to work collaboratively across various teams
• A strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Disciplined across various defence processes
• Solution oriented

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree qualification in an applicable field of study
